North Dakota Chaplains Retreat 2009

   Friday and Saturday, Aug 7 & 7, 2009 at Maryvale in Valley City. 


 

Dear Members and Friends,

    At long last we have a retreat theme, speaker and notice!   Sorry for the delays, but I am now a full time pastor and a very part-time chaplain.

    Anyway ...

The 2009 Retreat will be held on Friday -Saturday, August 7 (starting at 1 p.m.) and 8 (ending at noon) at Maryvale, north of Valley City.

Theme is: " Walking on Holy Gournd."

Speaker is: Kathleen Atkinson, OSB  

Sister Kathleen Atkinson is a Benedictine from Annunciation Monastery, Bismarck. Known as an energetic and creative presenter throughout the midwest, she has served as a teacher, social justice coordinator, diocesan director of catechesis, and most recently at the University of Mary as director of the ecumenical christian leadership center. Her academic background includes a BS in Elementary Education from UMary, An MA in Theology from St Johns University, Collegeveille, MN, and a Doctor of Ministry from Minnesota Theological consortium, St Paul, MN. but continual learning experiences include immersion trips to Guatemala, China, various US inner cities and Appalachia. She is spending the months of June and July 2009 in Italy as part of an international Benedictine Renewal and Study program. Recent local community involvements have included Habitat for Humanity, Bismarck Rotary Club, Ruth Meiers Board, Charles Hall Youth Services Board, and the ND Supreme Court Informal Complaints Panel.

 

Cost is: The cost for full and associate members is $60.00.

[$75.00 non-member (up to $15 applied to membership if desired)]
               $5 late fee added after July 31st.
Scholarships available upon request to Executive Committee (Please ask us!)
 
               $5 late fee added for registrations received after July 31.

Maryvale is located 2 1/2 miles north of Valley City
Take the Valley City exit to Main Street
Continue on Main until you come to Central Avenue.  Turn north on Central Avenue.
Follow Central Avenue to 12th Street NW (Jefferson Grade School and Fish Hatchery sign)
Turn right .....down hill ..... to 4 way stop sign.  Turn left.
Go under high bridge and continue to Peavey Elevator on your left.
Turn left on to County Road.
At Maryvale Fish Hatcheries (green sign), turn left.
Go over railroad tracks, a bridge, and up the road to Maryvale.
